Toy Drive this Saturday to help local families have a great holiday

Star 105.5 and the Salvation Army is gathering toys this Saturday in Crystal Lake and you can help. Live music from The Empty Pockets, Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and more!

On Saturday, Dec. 17, you can help build a huge pile of new toys to go out to kids in McHenry County for this holiday season as we work alongside the Salvation Army. You'll be responsible for putting a smile on a child's face this holiday season. If you plan on doing some shopping in the next few days I hope you'll think about grabbing something for the kids here in McHenry County that might not be as fortunate as others. There are some toys that might set you back just a couple of bucks. Maybe you're feeling really charitable and want to grab a few extra of whatever is the toy your kid wants the most.

We all remember the thrill of Christmas morning and opening gifts and what it felt like. This year we want to make sure as many kids as possible experience those feelings. If someone in the workplace has been looking for a way to give back you can pool your money and have some fun shopping. If you haven't shopped for toys in a long time? Big deal! See what is out there. Some of the games and toys you remember playing with will be there. I promise.

The U.S. Army will be on hand with their interactive Humvee and you'll be treated to live music from the best party band around, The Empty Pockets. Plus, the Volo Auto Museum will have the Scooby Doo Machine out for the kids to enjoy.

See you this Saturday, Dec. 17, near the Toys R' Us in Crystal Lake between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (click for map). Let's come together and make a difference for kids here in our area!
