Crystal Lake Park District Now Hiring Employees Ages 14-19 Through Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Grant

The Crystal Lake Park District has received notice that they are the recipient of a $60,120.00 Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Grant. Through this award, the Crystal Lake Park District will hire 21 new employees between the ages of 14-19 years old for the months of July and August. Positions that the park district is looking to fill with the grant include: 5 Day Camp staff employees, 6 Park Services employees, 2 Racket Club maintenance employees, 4 Nature Center employees and 4 Concession Stand employees. The grant will pay those hired $9/hour during the grant period.

As one of the largest employers of youth/teen workers in Crystal Lake, the Crystal Lake Park District is looking forward to being able to further assist youth and teens who are still seeking summer employment. “The Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Grant is mutually beneficial for both the park district and area youth/teens,” said Crystal Lake Park District Human Resources Coordinator Anna Olas. “In addition to helping youth and teens gain valuable job skills and a paycheck over the summer, the park district benefits through camp and program staff being able to provide additional assistance to participants, and parks and facilities benefitting from the additional cleaning maintenance provided by these staff.”

Applicants for the Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Grant positions should complete a Crystal Lake Park District employment application immediately. Applications are available online at http://www.crystallakeparks.org/General-Info/employment.asp or in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake. Positions are available immediately and will last through August 31. Applications are accepted in person or by mail only. For more information contact Anna Olas at (815) 459-0680, ext. 202.
