Voting Now Open for Crystal Lake Park District Ugliest Yard Contest

Vote for your favorite Ugliest Yard-March 1-31.

In July 2011, a powerful storm swept through Crystal Lake and brought down a beautiful 125 year-old burr oak tree at Main Beach. The Glacier Oaks Nursery assisted the Park District with the harvest and cultivation of 170 acorns from that tree. And in the spring, the park district will plant 100 new seedlings in park district parks this spring. Park District staff also wanted to share a piece of this historic tree with our community. The 2013 Crystal Lake Park District Ugliest Yard Contest was created in order to select recipients of the Main Beach burr oak seedlings.

After collecting entries for the past few months, it is now is time to vote for the winner of the Ugliest Yard Contest! Voting will be open from March 1-31. The winner will be announced on April 1, 2013. There are 3 ways to vote:

1) Vote online: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/UgliestYardVote2013

2) Vote in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.

3) Vote in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Booth #35 at the Crystal Lake Business Expo, Saturday & Sunday, March 23-24.
