Spots Still Available at Spring Mother-Daughter Tea at the Colonel Palmer House

The Crystal Lake Park District will again present the very popular "Mother-Daughter Tea" on Sunday, April 14, at the Colonel Palmer House, 660 E. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

Grandmas, moms and aunts will find this afternoon tea is a delightful way to welcome spring with a special granddaughter, daughter or niece.

In addition to a luncheon tea served by costumed staff, there will be presentation on the history of Raggedy Ann dolls.

Alison Hubbard of Crystal Lake, a collector and historian of Raggedy Ann dolls will be presenting the history of the dolls that were created by Johnny Gruelle, a native of Arcola, Ill.

Ms. Hubbard’s presentation will describe “the Raggedy Way” reflecting trustworthiness, kindness, and spunk as well as the doll's impact on American Folklore.

Attendees (ages 4 & up) are encouraged to bring their Raggedy Ann doll or any other treasured doll to the tea. 

A limited number of tickets are available for seating at 12:30 pm or 3:00 pm.

Register in advance online at www.crystallakeparks.org, or in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.
