Where is Santa? Live NORAD Santa Tracker 2013

Follow Santa as he travels around the world on Christmas Eve with the 2013 NORAD Santa Tracker.

Christmas Eve has finally arrived, and children throughout the world are anxiously awaiting to see what gifts Santa Claus leaves under the tree.

But with all the different time zones around the globe, and potential weather delays, how can the little ones know exactly when Santa will arrive?

Well, gather the family around the computer, and log onto the NORAD Santa Tracker 2013.

The Santa Tracker relays up-to-the minute information about Santa's Christmas eve journey. The tracking begins at 12 a.m. (mountain time zone) Dec. 24, and follows Santa from country to country. (Once Santa hits the United States, all kids should go to bed!).

For the past 50 years, NORAD and its predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD), have tracked Santa Claus as he travels the world on Christmas Eve.

According to the NORAD website, the command center uses four high-tech systems to monitor the jolly old elf’s journey: radar, satellites, Santa cam and fighter jets — once he has entered the United States’ airspace.

NORAD staffers watch radar systems continuously to see when Santa departs from the North Pole. Once he begins his magical flight, the official tracking begins.

So while you're wrapping up those gifts, set the kids in front of the computer and let them follow Santa's journey.
