Decorating the Dole: Transforming the Mansion for Upcoming Holiday Events
Volunteers gathered at the historic Dole Mansion and Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake on Wednesday to begin decorating for the holidays.
When preparing the historic Dole Mansion and Lakeside Legacy Arts Park for the holidays, it takes more than a few extra hands to get the job done.
On Wednesday, several volunteers gathered at the Dole and Lakeside, at 401 Country Club Rd. in Crystal Lake, to help decorate the six Christmas trees set up in the Sage Gallery, the entryway, the Dole Mansion parlor, study and office.
More trimmings were added to the fireplaces and other areas.
The goal is to have the mansion and Arts Park ready for the official tree lighting ceremony inside in the Sage Gallery on Dec. 6, (also the First Friday art show/ musical gathering) and outside on Dec. 7 for the Centennial Winter Festival, which will be held at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park and Main Beach.
