Two Fertility Centers of Illinois Physicians Named Top Doctors

Dr. Laurence Jacobs of Fertility Centers of Illinois in Crystal Lake has been named a Top Doctor by Chicago magazine. Dr. Edward Marut of FCI was also selected. Dr. Marut and Dr. Jacobs have both been named a Top Doctor for the past 15 years. Less than one percent of all specialists in the field of reproductive endocrinology are chosen.

Physicians are selected as Top Doctors in Chicago magazine every two years based upon Castle Connolly’s nationwide America’s Top Doctors. To be considered as a Top Doctor, physicians must be nominated by their peers, including hospital and healthcare executives and other physicians.

Physicians cannot nominate themselves.
Nominees are evaluated based upon areas such as scrutiny of medical education, training, board certifications, hospital appointments, administrative posts, professional achievements, outcomes, procedure volume, and malpractice history.

Dr. Marut, who received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, has served as an IVF Medical Director since 1983 and has offices in Highland Park and Chicago.

“It is a privilege to serve Chicago patients and help couples and individuals achieve their dream of having a family,” said Dr. Marut. “I have truly enjoyed working as a physician for the past 32 years, and it is an honor to be recognized by my peers for such an award.”

Dr. Jacobs, who completed his reproductive endocrinology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, has offices in both Crystal Lake and Buffalo Grove.

“Repeatedly being honored as one of America’s Top Doctors is highly impressive to my patients and is a tremendous honor for me and my team of dedicated staff,” Dr. Jacobs says.  "It is extremely gratifying to be honored once again by my peers and to be consistently named for 15 straight years in all Castle Connelly's publications, ‘America's Top Doctors’ from 2000 to 2014."
