A Simple Gift for Giving Tuesday

The second annual Giving Tuesday is here. If you don't have anything planned yet, here's an idea for you.

Giving Tuesday is a new concept, a day to think about giving back after indulging in turkey, dessert and Christmas shopping. It is held on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, the day after Cyber Monday.

We shouldn’t need a special day to think about giving back but it helps when our days get so hectic trying to plan the perfect Christmas in addition to doing daily tasks.

It’s not too late to give back today. One simple way is giving blood through LifeSource Blood Centers. LifeSource is donating $1 to local food banks for every unit donated now through Sunday, December 8.

LifeSource is hoping to raise more than $5,700, which will provide about 28,600 meals to Illinois families, according to its website.
