Support Our Troops for Veterans Day

Veteran's Day is just around the corner, and many people are looking for ways to honor past and present members of our armed forces. The Veterans Network Committee will be at the Crystal Lake Walmart on Route 31, accepting donations for the troops. These donations will be bundled into care packages that will be sent to our troops stationed far from home. These care packages, containing everything from books and magazines to playing cards and personal items, are a great source of encouragement to our troops at this time of year.

The Veterans Network Committee serves local veterans and current servicemen and women through programs that raise awareness and provide support in a variety of ways. Members of the Veterans Network Committee will be available to take donations and answer any questions from November 8th through November 11th; however, donation boxes will be set up at the store beginning on November 4th. For a complete list of donations needed go to www.veteransnetworkcommittee.com and click on "Shopping for Our Troops." The public is encouraged to come out and learn more about the VNC and ways they can show support for their local servicemen and women.
