Meet & Greet Marines Night at Colonial Cafe

Marines to appear at Colonial Cafes to bolster Toys for Tots Drive

November marks the beginning of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys For Tots Drive. And on Monday November 11 (Veterans Day), Marines will greet guests at all seven Colonial Cafe & Ice Cream locations across the Fox Valley from 5 to 7 p.m.

“This gives our guests an opportunity to personally thank a Marine for all they do in service to our great nation,” said Clinton Anderson, Colonial president.

“We’re also encouraging guests to bring new unwrapped toys; in return, Colonial will give guests a $1 coupon for each toy they bring…good toward food they purchase at Colonial,” Anderson said. In addition, all veterans and current military personnel will get a free All-American Hot Fudge Sundae on Veterans Day.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The campaign’s objective is to play an active role in the development of one of the nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during the collection period; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Toys for Tots collection barrels will remain in Colonial Cafes until December 18th. Colonial has locations in Algonquin, Aurora, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Naperville and two in St. Charles.
