First Friday Art Show at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake, IL

The public is welcome to the First
Friday Art Show at Lakeside Legacy Art Park on Friday, March 7th from 5pm-8pm
at 401 Country Club Road in Crystal Lake, IL. On a monthly basis the foundation
hosts a cultural evening that encourages the public to explore and discover the
Historic Dole mansion, view two art exhibits, listen to live music and enjoy complimentary
appetizers and a cash bar. First Friday events are like taking a trip to
Chicago to visit the Art Institute without leaving McHenry County. March
features the work of profession artists and Johnsburg resident, Terrance Maule,
and a group installation by the emerging student artists of Creative Arts, Inc.
of Crystal Lake. Creative Arts, Inc will host free face-painting and a craft. Free
entertainment will be provided by Woodstock natives, Karen and Sean Slavin, and
a small ensemble from the McHenry County Youth Orchestra will also perform. An
entrance admission donation of $5 is requested to attend, and the events are
family friendly. Lakeside Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable
organization entrusted to protect and preserve the Historic Dole Mansion for
generations to come, and to be an innovative community arts park that
cultivates creativity and imagination for all ages. Lakeside’s Executive
Director, “Siobhan Cottone explains First Friday’s as, “…Mission centered
events for the community to enjoy. The art shows bring to life what Lakeside is
all about. We encourage anyone who is curious about what happens within the Dole
and Arts Park to be our guest at the monthly art show. The arts come alive, and
new and returning guests get to experience art, music and culture close to
home!” For more information on the March 7th First Friday and

a line and can never mathematically reach zero. Maule’s contemporary art is a
unique blend of mediums and materials, and on one level abstract landscapes and
color fields. Maule encourages the audience to view each piece as a ‘new space’
that starts within them. Maule is also a commissioned officer in the Navy and
