The Johnny Appleseed Festival in downtown Crystal Lake was packed with visitors seeking a taste of fall.
Families attended to the festival to enjoy rides, games, live music, a craft sale, antique sale and many other happenings hosted by the downtown merchants. The Great Ball Race is about to start.
Diana Kenney, executive director for downtown Crystal Lake, said today's festival has been busy all day long. The crowd size is much larger than last year, Kenney said.
