Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for McHenry County

Radar indicates a storm capable of producing hail and high winds.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for McHenry County.

According to the NWS, their Doppler Radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing destructive winds in excess of 70 mph. These storms were located along a line extending seven miles east of Kenosha to Bull Valley.

These severe thunderstorms can produce large hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain. In the event of a severe thunderstorm, residents are advised to move to an interior room and the lowest floor of their home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so people are advised to not drive into areas where water covers the road, according to the NWS.
