Roadblock Removed to Summer Road Work
State officials try to save funds for schools and social services.
An attempt by Illinois Senate Democrats to restore money to the state budget for education and social services—by tying the issue to funding for construction of roads and schools—was abandoned Thursday.
The cuts for schools and social services remain and road work will move forward.
