Patch Flash: Naked Man Leads Police to Suburban Meth Lab

A man police found naked and covered in blood on a Des Plaines street helped lead authorities to discover a meth lab the man was allegedly operating from the basement of his home. Andrew R. Frame, 35, of the 1400 block of East Campbell Avenue, was found near the corner of Campbell Avenue and Center Street in the Chicago suburb just before midnight Monday.

Frame told police that he was forced to fight with someone inside his house nearby and that a murder had taken place there.  But after they investigated the scene, the only thing police found were drugs -- including cocaine -- and a possible drug lab in Frame's basement. They do not suspect an actual murder took place. Frame, who remains hospitalized, was charged with multiple counts of manufacturing illicit drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Evanston Police said that a 20-year-old Evanston man and a 21-year-old Des Plaines man were shot at approximately 7:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of Lyons Street. While one victim was found near the location of the shooting, the other man ran two blocks south to the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue. Police have identified a possible offender but have no one in their custody as of yet, said Evanston police spokesperson Cmdr. Jay Parrott on Monday morning. Police stated in a press release on Sunday the shooting victims were known to the offender.

The man was walking near Lamon and Louise avenues when two black men in their 20s asked him for a dollar. Before he could acknowledge them, he was sucker punched by the taller of the two suspects and fell to the ground, according to the police report.

Hoffman Estates police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Mallard Lane at 1:44 p.m. Saturday. Police said that the boy was unconscious and not breathing when they arrived. He was taken to Saint Alexius Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3 p.m.

The boy had a puncture wound to his chest, but an autopsy did not find what had caused the wound and a gunshot had been ruled out, the newspaper reported. The Daily Herald reported that neighbors said they heard that the boy was playing on Cook County Forest Preserve property and fell out of a tree.

. No children were on the bus at the time. The bus was headed north on Schoenbeck Road at about 3:30 p.m. and had a greenlight, said Duane Madsen, a school crossing guard who saw the crash. Madsen said the Civic came through the intersection on Dundee Road. Both drivers were taken to Northwest Community Hospital.
