Get Smart with Library Card and Local Discounts Too

Local restaurants offer discounts to customers who show their library card.

The encourages residents to sign up for a library card in September, which is Library Sign-Up Month.

A library card gives you access to books, DVDs, audio books, 24/7 electronic resources CD’s, videos games, magazines, foreign language materials, free WiFi and Internet access and programs for all ages.

“My Library card should really be called my ‘smart card,’ because of the magnificent world found behind the doors of the Crystal Lake Public Library,” says Bob Blazier, Crystal Lake Library Foundation

Present your library card at local restaurants this month and receive discounts. Restaurants participating are: , , , Fatboys Burgers, , and .

Residents who sign up for a new card, or renewed car, can enter a drawing for a gift certificate to any of the participating restaurants.
