District 26 to Get New First Grade Teacher

The addition of the new teacher will mean all of the district's elementary schools will have class sizes in the mid 20s, according to the Northwest Herald.

The District 26 school board this week approved the salary for a new first-grade teacher at Deer Path Elementary School for the 2013-14 school year after more students enrolled at the school then expected, according to the Northwest Herald.

The addition of the teacher, which is expected to cost the district $46,000, will bring class sizes down to 26 students per classroom instead of 39 students per classroom, according to the article. Deer Path Elementary is located at 2211 Crystal Lake Road in Cary.
