Crystal Lake Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

Investigators found more than $1,000 in drugs.

A Crystal Lake man faces numerous felony charges after a two-month undercover narcotics investigation that involved, the , the Illinois State Police Narcotics Task Force and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office – Narcotics Unit, which includes investigators from Lake in the Hills Police Department, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Kieth Lamasse, 48, 640 Rudat Court, Crystal Lake was charged with a Class X felony for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and a Class C misdemeanor for unlawful possession of cannabis.

Investigators attempted to serve felony arrest warrants to Keith Lamasse, 48, of Crystal Lake on Sept. 8, but he was not home, according to the sheriff’s news release. The arrest was for an alleged narcotic transaction that involved more than 25 grams of cocaine and occurred within 1000 feet of a day care facility.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Lamasse’s residence and found residue amounts of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and other narcotic packaging materials. The discovery resulted in additional charges.

Sheriff Keith Nygren estimates the value of the drugs seized during the investigation to be in excess of $1,000. Lamasse was taken into custody on Sept. 13 and is being held at the McHenry County Correctional Facility on a $110,000 bond.
