Cary Expands Free Metra Lot Parking Hours

Downtown parking will be more plentiful, after the Cary Village Board approved free parking in Metra lots from 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday. 

Parking downtown can be a hassel due to a small amount of spaces avaialble, which sparked a downtown business roundtable discussion a month ago. From the meeting, it was agreed that Metra commuter lot parking lot offers a signficant number of open parking spaces after the daily commute. 

With the new hours in place, it's still against village code to park a vehicle without payment between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and 3:59 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Weekend parking in the Metra lots will remain free.
