Meet Cameron Hubbard, candidate for Crystal Lake City Council

As a lifelong resident of Crystal Lake I have tremendous pride in my community, and it is a privilege to call Crystal Lake home. My family has been in this area since the days of its settling, and many of my family participated in government and influential community organizations.

My family history, as well as my experiences with the Boy Scouts of America, and participation in leadership roles in the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, created a strong desire and sense of duty to participate in civil service. These roots in the community call me into action to run for the Crystal Lake City Council election.

Today, Crystal Lake is great place to live, work, and raise a family. I am a product of the amazing education system as a graduate of District 47 schools, and fourth generation Crystal Lake Central graduate.

I participated in many local organizations, including Boy Scout Troop #168, where I became an Eagle Scout. I have great memories from working and volunteering at Camp Algonquin, and from the numerous athletic endeavors including high school sports and Babe Ruth Baseball. In 2008, I graduated from Western Illinois with a degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration, and this degree compliments my many hobbies and love for the outdoors. Some of which include fishing, hiking, and traveling around the US and internationally. 

My involvement in the business community and building relationships with community leaders is very important to me. My leadership roles at the Crystal Lake Chamber as the Treasurer for the Young Professionals and Chairman of Leaders in Action are examples of my commitments to the local business economy.

Last year I was humbled to receive the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce Presidential Award of Excellence.  Recently, I was honored to be appointed to a vacant Crystal Lake City Council seat. I am proud to be a candidate for City Council in the General Election on April 9th. I believe my roots in the community, partnered with my education, professional experience, and community involvements provide me the skills and knowledge that will benefit citizens of Crystal Lake.

Personal:

Cameron is a Research Associate for Exemplar Financial Network. His main responsibilities include researching products for the financial advisors and preparing client reports. He also maintains the office technology and trains new advisors joining the region. He holds the series 7 registration and Life & Health insurance licenses.

Hobbies:

Along with being involved in the community, Cameron enjoys kayaking, boating, fishing, playing hockey, snowboarding and spending time with his wife and dogs.
