CRYSTAL LAKE – One of the suburbs’ most celebrated independent pizza restaurants will hit a major milestone within the next several weeks.
Pizza, which has locations in Crystal Lake and South Barrington, will
sell its 1 millionth pizza within a month, says owner Brian Coli, who
has owned and managed the business since its inception more than 11
“I can’t tell you exactly when I think the 1 millionth pizza will be sold without giving up the surprise, but I can say it will be any day now,” Coli says. “We’ll be well over a million before Christmas!”
The lucky customer who purchases the 1 millionth pizza as part of a dine-in meal will receive free Georgio’s pizza for a year, the equivalent of one free pizza every month for 12 months. To add to the celebration, the customer who purchases the 1 millionth and first pizza at the alternate Georgio’s location will receive an identical prize, making the opportunity to win available to patrons of either restaurant.
But that’s not all. To celebrate the business’s commitment to helping the community, Georgio’s will donate the same free one-year supply of pizza – in the format of gift certificates – to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry and the Project Hope Food Pantry of Barrington as well.
The donation is just a small representation of the thousands of dollars Georgio’s sends to nonprofits each year.
“We are so thankful for the support we have had from our patrons in Crystal Lake for the past decade and in South Barrington for the past two years,” Coli says. “Giving back is something Georgio’s has always believed in, and what better way to celebrate our 1 millionth pizza sale than to share it with the communities in which we serve.”
Known for its Chicago-style, deep dish pizza, Georgio’s also serves thin crust pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soups and salads and features a full-service bar. Georgio’s, a family-owned pizzeria named after Coli’s father and their shared middle name, George, has been named “Best Pizza” by the Northwest Herald’s “Best of the Fox” awards seven years in a row.
On a national level, Georgio’s received the award for “Best Deep Dish” at the 2012 Chicago Pizza Fest and is featured regularly in Pizza Today, a national magazine that lists Georgio’s as one of its “Hot 100 Independent Pizzerias in the Nation.”
Georgio’s is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and drinks. In addition to the dining room and full-service bar, Georgio’s has private and semi-private space for banquets, catering service and carry-out, and the Crystal Lake location even offers delivery service.
Georgio’s Pizza is located at 75 E. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake and 100 W. Higgins Road in the South Barrington Arboretum. For more information, visit www.georgiospizza.com.
