Crystal Lake's Jayme Joyce named Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Jayme Joyce, co-founder of the local video production company Joone Studios, was just named "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Chicago chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners.

Jayme, of Crystal Lake, co-founded her studio in 2010, and at 29 years old now reminisces about how she and her business partner Jessica Christopher started out as typical starving artists.

"We got the idea to start the company at the Sundance Film Festival, but had no contacts in business, and really no money; it was a total leap of faith. But we decided to use our networking contacts as currency and always aimed to make connections and add value to the people we were meeting," Jayme said. "Through that karma and always giving first, eventually, our tiny network doubled and tripled, and so did the size of our business."

Because of their background in film, Jayme and Jessica's video production company specializes in more creative, branded video content using their cutting edge techniques and tricks to bring to life each of their client company’s unique styles.

Currently the company is focusing on animated explainer videos such as the whiteboards style that's become really popular, as well as companies looking to create serial branded videos like web series, and more.
