No Power, No Problem at Country Donuts

Generator keeps donut shop going.

Monday's storm knocked out the power for a lot of Crystal Lake businesses, but got up from the canvas and continued on.

With the power going down Monday morning, Country Donuts' employees received quite a gesture—a loyal customer stepped up and let the store use his generator. With a few connections and a full tank of gas, the store pulled in enough power to get the coffee going.

When the store owners got a donut shop in Elgin to supply the donuts, Country Donuts was back in business.

"Yesterday (Monday) it was crazy business," Stephanie Parison, a 12-year employee, said. "Today we're seeing a lot of new customers."

The situation is not ideal, but it'll keep the 24-hour business going until does its job.

"We're just trying to keep everything fresh," Parison said.
