LITH Works to Secure Big Box Retailer for Former Dominick's Site

Which big box retailer do you think could possibly be moving into the former Dominick's location? Which store would you like to see move in? Let us know in the comments section.

The former Dominick's located near the busy intersection of Randall and Algonquin roads in Lake in the Hills could soon have a new tenant, according to the Daily Herald.

Gino DeVivo, Lake in the Hills economic development coordinator, told the Daily Herald the village is in the final stages of working with a big box retailer to secure a lease for 53,000 square feet of the existing building.

If the big box retailer moved in, the building would be split between that business and the remaining 20,000 square feet would go to another retailer, according to the Daily Herald.

The village originally reached out to grocery store chains to fill the former Dominick's location but because of the close proximity of several other grocery stores, including Jewel-Osco, Meijer, Joe Caputo & Sons and Costco, no one was interested, according to the article.
