Georgio's Hits One-Millionth Pizza Milestone

Georgio's Pizza served its one-millionth pizza this past weekend. 

Georgio's one-millionth pizza pie was ordered at its Crystal Lake location, 76 E. Woodstock St., on Saturday, Dec. 21. 

Ruth Roper was the lucky customer who unknowingly ordered the restaurant's one millionth pizza, thereby winning a free Georgio's pizza every month for the upcoming year, according to the Downtown Crystal Lake Facebook page. 

To celebrate Roper's good fortune, Georgio's also awarded the other customers dining in the restaurant that night a complimentary dessert.

A matching prize of one free pizza for each of the next 12 months also was given to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry on Monday. 

Known for its Chicago-style, deep dish pizza, Georgio’s also serves thin crust pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soups and salads and features a full-service bar. The restaurant opened in Crystal Lake 11 years ago, and two years ago opened a second location at 100 W. Higgins Road in the South Barrington Arboretum.
