Gander Mountain Could Be Coming to Algonquin

The Algonquin Village Board will decide in coming weeks whether to move forward with a developer's plan to build a 52,000-square-foot Gander Mountain just north of Walmart, at 1400 S. Randall Road, in the Millbrook Marketplace Development, according to the Northwest Herald.

The Algonquin Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday recommended the project for approval and the proposed project is now expected to head to the  village's Committee of the Whole on March 25, according to the article.

The proposed Gander Mountain would be built in a vacant lot where a 240-space parking lot would also be added, according to the Northwest Herald.

Gander Mountain is a national retail chain based in St. Paul, Minn., that sells hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor recreational gear, according to the company's website.
