The international corporate owners of Elecpac, a Cary manufacturer of glass-to-metal seals that occupies a portion of the building at 740 Industrial Drive, announced on Thursday that they are closing their Cary operation and consolidating it with an existing operation in Southbridge, Massachusetts.

, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SCHOTT North America, announced that the corporate decision to move their Cary operations to their larger Massachusetts operation was made in 2010.

The Village of Cary was never contacted by corporate representatives regarding the closure and we became aware of the corporations decisions to consolidate operations at the same time as everyone else in the community.
