Crystal Lake Businesses Cited for Selling Tobacco to Minor

Two businesses on Virginia Street were recently cited during compliance checks completed in May.

Two Crystal Lake businesses failed a recent compliance check conducted by local police last month. 

The Crystal Lake Police Department conducted compliance checks at 36 businesses in the city and two of those business were cited for selling tobacco products to an underage minor.

The business cited were: Phillips 66, 415 W. Virginia St., and Crystal Lake BP, 281 Virginia St. 

Crystal Lake Police plan to continue these campaigns in an effort to stop illegal tobacco sales to minors by the implementation and expansion of community-based programs, utilizing retail education, enforcement and public awareness.
