Countryside Hosts 13th Annual Quilt Show

Quilt Show is Saturday and Sunday with a special "Quilt of Valor" presentation at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.

 

is hosting the 13th Annual Quilt Show this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23 in Crystal Lake.

At 1 p.m.  Sunday, the Gazebo Quilters of Huntley will present the "Quilts of Valor" to Dick Glawe, Fred Nobile and Jeff Bruce with a beautiful quilt stitched with love, prayers and healing thoughts.

These quilts will be a tangible token of appreciation that says, “Thank you for your service, sacrifice and valor.”

Weather permitting the presentation will take place outdoors in front of Countryside’s patriotic quilt garden, “Spirit."

Five members of Prairie Ridge High School Band will start the presentation by playing the National Anthem; the Honor Guard will salute these veterans by performing “Taps.”

Just how much of an impact has the Quilts of Valor Foundation made? As of May, 2012, there have been over 65,000 quilts awarded to service members and veterans.

Countryside Flower Shop, Nursery and Garden Center is located at 5301 E. Route 176, just one-half mile west of Route 31 in Crystal Lake.
