Camfil USA Invests $1.9 Million to Stay in Crystal Lake

High-end filtration systems manufacturer invests $1.9 million to stay in city of Crystal Lake.







Camfil USA has been manufacturing filtration and clean air systems at its Crystal Lake facility at 500 S. Main Street for the past 45 years.

With the completion of Camfil’s $1.9 million facilities enhancement project, Camfil’s legacy in Crystal Lake should continue for many more years.

“We hope that Camfil USA is here in Crystal Lake for at least another 45 years,” said Mayor Aaron Shepley, who presented Camfil with a Community Investment Award. Shepley was accompanied by members of the City Council and Economic Development Committee.

Camfil employs 65 full-time employees at the Crystal Lake manufacturing facility and plans to grow in the future. 

Camfil USA invested nearly $2 million to improve the energy-efficiency of its building, along with safety and aesthetic enhancements, and a significant paved-surface upgrade to improve access for logistics, said James Richter II, assistant director of economic development for Crystal Lake. 

USACamfil is a world leader in the development and production of air filters and clean air solutions. As s global air filtration specialist, Camfil has 23 production units and R&D centers in four countries in the Americas, Europe, South East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, Richter said in a release.

The group, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, has 3,484 employees and sales in the range of $760 million. International markets account for almost 90 percent of sales, according to Richter.

The company's business is to provide customers with sustainable best-in-class air filtration products and services within four main segments: Comfort Air, Clean Processes, Power Systems and Safety & Protection.
