Lakeside Festival Returns to Crystal Lake: Fireworks, Parade, Head East to Perform

The Fourth of July festivities will return with this year's Lakeside Festival, which kicks off on Thursday, July 3, and continues through the weekend.

The Lakeside Festival will soon be returning to Crystal Lake and will bring with it fireworks, Fourth of July parade and plenty of other festivities. 

The festival kicks off on Thursday, July 3, and will continue through the weekend. Gates will be open 4 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and from noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. 

There is a $5 entrance fee and free admission for kids 12 years old and under. The cost is $2 for seniors 65 years old and is free for active military with valid ID. 

The festival will include carnival rides, Taste by the Lakefamily programs, a baggo tournament and plenty of entertainment. Pirates Over 40 will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Hi Infidelity will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Modern Day Romeos will play at 9 p.m. Saturday, and the legendary classic rock band Head East will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A fireworks show wil be held on Sunday at dusk at Main Beach. The Crystal Lake Community Band With Voices in Harmony will accompany the fireworks display on Crystal Lake. 

An Independence Day parade will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The parade route will begin at City Hall at North Walkup Avenue and East Woodstock Street in Crystal Lake and continue along Woodstock Street to Dole Avenue and will end at the Lakeside Festival Grounds, 401 Country Club Road.
