Both choirs will present a variety of musical selections. The 35-voice Alleluia Sound will sing the original composition, “Knock And The Door Will Be Opened,” written by Tom Vos to commemorate the choir’s 25th anniversary. Vos, a composer and professional violinist, grew up in Crystal Lake, attending Crystal Lake Central High School and singing in the FCC Choirs from preschool through his high school graduation in 1988. This song is now considered a signature piece for the choir.

Seniors Connor Gannon, Brooke Hagedorn and Becky Linning will perform a bell trio “Bretheren We Have Met to Worship” arr. Linda Lamb. Other senior features include: Ben Johnson singing “Dwell Thou In Me” by Marian Wood Chaplin and Natalie Rothbauer and Lucas Ramirez singing a duet they arranged for keyboard and guitar.

The senior song will be “Lord, You Are Light;” 2012 Alleluia Sound seniors are sopranos: Lisa Evertsen, Brooke Hagedorn, Becky Linning and Natalie Rothbauer; altos: Rachel Bremicker, Morgan Hubbard, Anna Poggensee; tenor: Connor Gannon; and baritones: Tyler Iscra, Ben Johnson, Dan Jones, Ben Markison, Spencer Irish-Morrobel, Lucas Ramirez and Stuart Streit.

Each year the choir does a larger work, this year they will present a medley from Stephen Schwartz’s popular “Godspell” arranged by Lloyd Larson accompanied by Lucas Ramirez on drums featuring favorite songs such as “Prepare Ye,” “Day By Day” and “Turn Back O Man.” The choir will also perform “Shut de Do” by Randy Stonehill, arranged by Mark Hayes and “Hallelujah Amen” by G.F. Handel. “No Rocks A-Cryin” by Rollo Dilworth and “Adoramus Te” by Jacques Clement are also programmed for the concert.
