Crystal Lake Jaycees' School Supply Drive

The Crystal Lake Jaycees will be running a school supply drive on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 3-7 p.m. at Blast on the Beach in Crystal Lake. Blast on the Beach – hosted by BMO Harris Bank and the Crystal Lake Park District – is a free event that will take place at Main Beach (300 Lakeshore Drive in Crystal Lake).

Supplies collected during the drive will be donated to the Wraparound Program, which serves at-risk youth with emotional and behavioral disorders in McHenry County, as well as their families. The Jaycees hope to collect items including children’s jeans, assorted pens, Sharpies, dry erase boards, photo batteries, dictionaries, headphones, calculators, memory cards and more. For a complete list of needed supplies, visit www.crystallakeparks.org/documents/2012BLAST_JayceeSchoolSupplyDriveList.... A donation jar will be located at the Jaycees’ collection table for those wishing to make monetary contributions.

The Jaycees will be hosting a member social in conjunction with the school supply drive. If you are a member, or are interested in becoming a member, please join us at the beach as we celebrate the last few weeks of summer. Blast on the Beach will feature a fun fair for kids, a treasure hunt in the sand, a water ski show, live music, food vendors, and a beer and wine garden.
