Cary Library Hosts Nature Photography of Lori Indovina-Valus
Nature Photography of Lori Indovina-Valus is on showcase at the Cary Library until Jan. 30
Cary Library Hosted a "Meet the Artist" for Lori Indovina-Valus at the earlier this week, where guests could speak with her and view and purchase her photography.
Indovina-Valus was passionate speaking about her travels and the various subjects and places she has photographed. She said that her favorite thing to shoot in nature are birds.
Indovina-Valus is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and has taught art for over 10 years in Chicago and McHenry County. A very important development is how her nature photography has caught the eye of the conservationists.

Her work is being used to aid in fund-raising efforts by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for preservation of the wetland basin.
OpenLands.org will be posting her photos on their website, with a page of the Black Crown Marsh.

Her photo of the Black Crown Marsh, "Geese Rising with the Sun" was picked by the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission to be included in an exhibit "Illinois' Natural Treasures" in 2010.

Indovina-Valus has an art exhibit of Fine Watercolors from Feb. 4 to Feb. 24, in the Sage Gallery at the Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake.
There will be a First Friday Reception on Feb. 4 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
