'Blast on the Beach' is Saturday

The BMO Harris/Crystal Lake Park District "Blast on the Beach" will provide entertainment for all ages this year.

"Blast on the Beach" is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Dr., Crystal Lake. The Blast is one of the final celebrations of the summer, as the start of school looms on the horizon. (Rain date for "Blast on the Beach" is Aug. 11). 

Live entertainment this year includes: 

5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Circus Boy: 

With over 25 years experience entertaining and astonishing audiences of all ages, Circus Boy will appear at the Main Beach Band Shell. Circus Boy, Bobby Hunt, is one of America’s most unique and popular variety performers. 

Bobby’s unique talents and unusual family of circus performers were featured on an episode of television’s Ripley’s Believe it Or Not, and Bobby was a featured performer with the world famous Ringling Bros. Circus, traveling the globe and entertaining audiences from all walks of life with his unforgettable brand of stunts and physical comedy.

6:30 to 9 p.m. The Lounge Puppets: 

The Lounge Puppets band is a tribute to the 80’s Hair Band. The music of the Lounge Puppets is "an incredible heart pumping, fist-thrusting, scream out loud, head banging trip back through time!"

Taking the term "Tribute Band" to a new level, The Lounge Puppets band has raised the bar, packing all the large clubs, venues, and festivals in and around the Chicagoland area.

The Lounge Puppets will thrill the crowd with one of the best light shows around and all of the hair, leather and attitude that made the very bands they are covering.

Food, Kids Fair, Craft Fair, Treasure Hunt, Bags Tournament

"Blast on the Beach" also features a Kids' Fun Fair with over 20 games and activities, a Craft Fair, a Treasure Hunt (real gold coins and other prizes buried in our beach!), Bags Tournament for cash prizes, a beer/ wine garden and food vendors from local restaurants.

Admission to the "Blast on the Beach" is free because of the generosity of BMO Harris Bank.
