The Cary Fire Protection District will host the parade this Saturday.

Antique fire trucks will be on display at the Centennial Parade hosted by the Cary Fire Protection District this Saturday.

The parade will  start at 10 a.m. and will showcase the district's fire trucks as well as some antique fire items that have been on display at Station One on Cary-Algonquin Road, according to the fire protection district website.

A 1928 American La France engine and Rescue Co. 5 — which is a fire engine used during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks —will be on display at the parade.

The parade route will start at First and Pearl streets and end at the Cary-Grove High School, 2208 Three Oaks Road where a Fire Truck Expo will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At the Fire Truck Expo, many of the apparatus in the parade will be on display for public viewing. Food will be sold by the Cary-Grove Booster Club during the expo. Special Centennial Commemorative T-shirts have been designed and will be available for purchase. T-Shirts cost $20 for sizes Small to X-Large and $22 for sizes 2XL & 3XL Shirts.
