Woodstock Willie Predicts Early Spring

Willie didn't see his shadow (maybe it was covered with snow?), so an early spring is predicted.

 

Woodstock Willie did not see his shadow this morning during the annual Groundhog Day celebration in historic Woodstock, the Northwest Herald reports.

As a result, Willie predicted an early spring as did his fellow East Coast weather prognosticator, Punxsutawney Phil who signaled his prediction from Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania, the Herald reports.

About 500 spectators braved the cold and snow to watch Willie, the story said.
