Skating in a Wonder Winterland

Take a break from the holiday frenzy for a day trip to Rockford and ice skate in a unique outdoor rink.

 

Rockford’s Davis Park is once again transformed into the BMO Harris Bank Winter Wonderland, a unique outdoor skating rink featuring 12,000 square feet of synthetic ice and an 800-foot skating trail.

The park's transformation inlcudes the outdoor ice skating, concessions, benches, evergreen trees and thousands of twinkling lights. For the first time, Winter Wonderland features free admission all season long. Skate rentals are $3.

Winter Wonderland is open through January 13.

Regular hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m. Sundays. There are special holiday break hours from December 26 to January 4. Holiday break hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The rink will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

BMO Harris Bank presents Winter Wonderland made its debut in 2010 with 5,000 visitors. Synthetic ice is great for beginners and children, and it can be used whether it’s 10 or 90 degrees.
