East Terra Cotta Avenue to Close in Crystal Lake

The closures started Monday.

East Terra Cotta Avenue at the intersection of Route 176 and Route 31 will be closed permanently starting Monday, April 15, according to an advisory message from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

The closure is meant to allow the removal of existing underground storage tanks. The purpose is to create a safer four-leg intersection, according to the message.

Access to East Terra Cotta Avenue can be made via Smith Road off of Route 176. Route 176 and Route 31 will remain open during and after construction, according to the message.
