The extraordinary afternoon showcased talents of local artisans, crafters, jewelers, culinary artists, interior designers, musicians, dancers and decorators. The Holiday Soiree was a day where the arts came alive, and the spirit of the season was enjoyed, said Erin McElroy, advancement coordinator for the Lakeside Legacy Foundation.

"Lakeside Legacy is grateful to all those who attended, the participating local business, the volunteers and the generous sponsors," McElroy said in a post-event statement.

“Enjoy this day of friendship, and keep the memories close at heart,” said Barb Rupe, chairwoman of the soiree event.

The presenting sponsor of the 2012 event was Sage Products.

For the third year in a row, Erin Smith, Lakewood village president, had the honor of lighting Lakeside's Christmas tree.

The event would not have been possible without the support of the 13 local business who advertised; seven chefs, restaurants and food businesses; five businesses that donated designer trees for the auction; and the 14 local business that participated in the holiday bazaar, McElroy said.

Guests also enjoyed the beautiful holiday décor designed and donated by Bountiful Home, and one lucky guest took home with a beautiful necklace donated by Nelson’s Jewelry.

"A very special thank you is extended to the live performances by Marti Bonne of "Together Again," Martin Lopez of "4 Strings Attached," the Summers Academy of Dance and ballerinas from the Berkshire Ballet Theatre," McElroy said.

For the past 10 years, the Savvy Sisters have hosted events benefiting Lakeside Legacy Arts Park and the Historic Dole Mansion.

“Savvy Sisters are rare treats to be relished like fine wine and gourmet chocolates,” said Rupe.

"Lakeside representatives could not agree more, and the foundation is lucky to have them as friends of the foundation," McElroy said.

The 2012 Holiday Soiree kicked off the Christmas season at Lakeside. The public is welcome to view the festive décor and view the art exhibits Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday, Dec. 21.
