Hundreds Turn Out for Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lippold Park

Sunny skies, lots of colorful eggs and a big, furry Bunny provided Easter fun.

About 300 children armed with baskets, plastic bags and buckets turned out to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake on Saturday morning.

The egg hunt, hosted by the Crystal Lake Park District and the Crystal Lake Jaycees, has become an Easter-time tradition for the community. The event was held on the older soccer fields at Lippold where four different areas - separated by age categories - were packed with eggs.

The Easter Bunny took time out of his busy schedule to stop by the hunt as did newly crowned Miss Crystal Lake, Heather Tremblay, and Little Miss Photogenic Ainsley.

Due to the chilly temperatures, participants bundled up in winter coats, hats and boots. But the sunny skies carried the feeling of spring, and the "hunters" captured most of the eggs within minutes of the start time.
