Get Out: What's Going on This Weekend?

This weekend we've featured a ton of free activities, so there's no excuse not to GET OUT!



 Where/When: , 19351 W Washington St, Grayslake. Friday, Feb 25 from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Why go: Get swept up in this tragic love story starring Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton and Luca Gucagnino – it’s the perfect Friday date-night activity.

Where/When: Village CycleSport Arlington Heights, 1313 N Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Saturday, Feb 26 from 11 am to 4 pm.

Why go: Support a good cause while simultaneously testing the latest in cycling equipment. Participants bring their own bike and ride on the store’s CompuTrainer group system.  Prefer mingling to sweating? Non-riding attendants are also welcome – and, according to the group’s website, three marriages and one baby are the result of people who have met at the event!

Pricing: Free to attend, donations gratefully accepted

 



Where/When: , 26 N Williams St, Crystal Lake. Saturday, Feb 26 at 8 pm.

Why go: This unique group is like nothing you’ve ever seen before, combining bagpipes, rock music, comedy and dance. Definitely not an evening at the symphony – in a good way.

Pricing: Tickets $32 to $38, purchase at the box office website.

 



Where/When: , 30 N Williams St, Crystal Lake. Next on Saturday, Feb 26 7:30 am to 8:30 am, held weekly on Saturdays through the end of April.

Why go: The Running Depot will raffle off a gift certificate each Saturday for attendants – hopefully that will inspire participation in this slightly early - and maybe slightly cold - run!

Where/When: , 9625 Haligus Rd, Lake in the Hills. Saturday Feb 26 from 10 am to 4 pm; Sunday Feb 27 from 11 am to 3 pm.

Why go: Support local businesses at this free event, with over 100 area exhibitors showcasing their products and services. Also enjoy the Expo Café featuring local restaurants and fabulous raffle prizes including a trip to Walt Disney world.

Pricing: Free

 



Where/When: Rollins Savanna, Washington St, Grayslake.  Sunday, Feb 27 from 10 am to 12 pm.

Why go: Enjoy the last of the snow (hopefully!) while learning to cross-country ski in the forest preserves of Rollins Savanna in Grayslake.

Pricing: $5/person for Lake County residents, $7/person for non-residents. Registration required, participants must bring their own ski equipment. Call 847-968-3321 to register and/or inquire about rental equipment.
