Get Out: Fall Fest, Art Fair, Motorcylce Run

Several annual art festivals held this weekend, plus a benefit motorcycle ride, Alzheimer's walk and a celebration of Hispanic heritage.



Where/When: , 11419 S. Il Route 47, Huntley. Friday, September 23 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday, September 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.             

Why go: In addition to traditional fair staples such as carnival foods and games, kids’ activities, a beer/wine garden and live music, the Huntley Fall Fest also features Autumn activities such as a straw maze, pumpkin patch and scarecrow building. For the full weekend’s schedule of events, click here.

Pricing: Friday: $5 per person; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., $2 per adult, $1 per child, 3 p.m. to close, $5 per person; Sunday: $2 per adult, $1 per child.

Where/When: , 27790 W. Il Route 22, Barrington. Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.      

Why go: With over 175 exhibiting artists, children’s activites and pony rides, food (including a brat tent,) entertainment and free parking, there’s something for everyone at the 37th Annual Art in the Barn fair. Sponsored by the Auxiliary of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.

Pricing: $5 per person, kids under 12 free. 

 



Where/When: , 1900 S. Randall Road, Algonquin. Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.             

Why go: View a variety of art for sale including watercolor paintings, photography and more at this free weekend art fair. Plus see art from D300 students and enjoy entertainment including a raffle, live music and children’s art activities.

Pricing: Free admission.   

 



Where/When: , 5200 Miller Road, Lake in the Hills. Sunday, September 25 at 8 a.m.               

Why go: This free walk combines education and recreation. Attendants will walk for three miles while learning about about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollement and support programs. Plus walkers will participate in a tribute ceremony for people affected by Alzheimer’s. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Sunset Park, with the walk beginning at 10 a.m.

Pricing: Free.

 



Where/When: , 1101 Algonquin Road, Algonquin. Sunday, September 25 at 9 a.m.      

Why go: Motorcyclists, take a ride for a good cause. All bikes are welcome to ride, with registration from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the last bike out at noon. The ride is a Poker run with cash prizes, raffles and 50/50s, plus stops in several local cities. The after party at the American Legion is for riders and non-riders alike, and includes food and live music by Phidget. 

Pricing: $20 per rider, or $25 per rider/passenger combo, plus an unwrapped toy (includes admission to after party.) $10 plus an unwrapped toy for after party only.   

 



Where/When: , 26 N. Williams St., Crystal Lake. Sunday, September 25 at 5 p.m.      

Why go: The Raue Center for the Arts continues their celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with an "Agua Dulce" party. Attendants will enjoy tasting Latin American food and drinks and learning how to make their favorite cocktails.
