Every Saturday evening, beginning September 8, we will gather in the chapel for Spirit Worship. Spiritis a casual, come-as-you-are, intergenerational service, accessible and welcoming to all, inviting to newcomers and those who are unable to worship on Sunday mornings. Childcare is available through age 5. Fellowship will follow each service. Music leadership will feature a variety of musicians and styles, coordinated by our Music Director, Ann Tucker.

Sundays at 9:00 a.m. – Pilgrim Worship & Rotation Curriculum Sunday School

As in the past, Pilgrim Worship will center on preaching, prayer and the rich variety of music available at FCC. Musical leadership will be provided primarily by the Vestry Choir, but will include bells, children’s choirs and Free Will. Sunday School, known as JAM (Jesus And Me), will be offered only at 9:00 amfor children through Grade 7. We are introducing a rotation-model curriculum, using workshops such as art, music, and science to teach key Bible stories and elements of the Christian faith. Nursery carewill be provided for children up through age 3. Children will attend worship then adjourn to their classes until 10:15 am.

Sundays at 10:45 a.m. – Journey Worship for All Ages

New this year, Journey Worship will be a worship service where children and adults worship and pray together. There will be no children’s Sunday School during this service. This will be a Bible story and theme based intergenerational worship that seeks to educate and celebrate simultaneously. As in the past, the rich variety of music available at FCC. Musical leadership will be provided primarily by Alleluia Sound, but also will include bells, children’s choirs and Free Will. We will explore the major themes and stories of the Bible in creative ways that connect with each of us, wherever we are on our journey of faith. Nursery carewill be provided for children up through age 3.

Holy Communion

In all worship services communion usually will be celebrated on the first Saturday or Sunday of each month. In addition, there will be an opportunity to share in a brief and informal communion at the chancel after the postlude every week at the Pilgrim Worship (9:00 am), beginning September 9. Visitors and children (at their parents discretion) are always welcomed to the Communion Table at FCC.

Common Elements

All three services will hear the same announcements, mission and stewardship moments, observe special FCC days. All three staff pastors will share the leadership, along with other ordained and lay members of the congregation.
