Crystal Lake, Cary Churches Hold Holy Week, Easter Services

Area churches will hold Holy Week services in the days leading up to Easter Sunday.

Here is a look at some of the services at area churches: 

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake

• Maundy Thursday: Service at 7 p.m. at 300 S. Pathway Court in Crystal Lake
• Good Friday: Services at 6 and 8 p.m. at 178 McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake
• Saturday: Easter vigil service at 6 p.m. at 178 McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake
• Easter Celebration: Services at 6:15, 8, 9 and 11 a.m. 

First Congregational Church of Christ, 461 Piersen St. in Crystal Lake

• Maundy Thursday and Tenebrae: Service at 7 p.m.  
• Good Friday: Service at 1 p.m. 
• Saturday: Spirit worship starts at 5:30 p.m. and Easter vigil starts at 7 p.m. 
• Easter Sunday: Services at 7, 9 and 10:45 a.m. Holy communion at 7 a.m. and the varsity choir will be at 9 a.m. 

Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church

Oak Street Church: Corner of Route 176 and Oak Street in Crystal Lake

Piersen Street Church: 453 Piersen St. in Crystal Lake

• Maundy Thursday: Evening mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:30 p.m. Adoration until midnight. 
• Good Friday: Liturgical service of the Lord's Passion at 12:10 and 7:30 p.m. 
• Holy Saturday: Blessing of food baskets at 10:00 a.m. and Easter vigil mass at 7:30 p.m. 
• Easter Sunday: Masses at7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m. and noon. 

Lord and Saviour Lutheran Church, 9300 Ridgefield Road in Crystal Lake

• Maundy Thursday: Service at 7 p.m. 
• Good Friday: Service at 7 p.m. 
• Easter Sunday: Services at 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. 

SS. Peter and Paul, 410 North First St. in Cary

• Holy Thursday: Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 4 p.m. in Spanish and 7:30 p.m. in English
• Good Friday: Services at 1 p.m. in English, 3:30 p.m. in Spanish, liturgy of the Lord's Passion at 7:30 p.m. 
• Holy Saturday: Easter food blessing at 10 a.m. and a bilingual Easter vigil service at 7:30 p.m. 
• Easter Sunday: Services at 6:30, 8 and 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Spanish
