Cinco de Mayo Events Around Cary

Check out travel packages, then have a meal and drinks at local businesses for Cinco de Mayo.

Today is Cinco de Mayo, a holiday observed nationwide in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Here are some local businesses that are taking part in the celebration:

Cary Travel Express is holding an open house from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to promote Mexico as a travel destination. All of their agents have been to Mexico, enjoy travelling in Mexico and experiencing the resorts. Come in to hear details on how to have a great resort vacation and find out why there are 22.4 million visitors to Mexico every year. Cary Travel Express will also feature specials from Apple and Funjet. There will be a giveaway with small prizes and two gift certificates for travel.

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, The Cuckoo’s Nest in Cary on Route 14 will feature $3 house maragaritas and free pool.

Wool Street Grill and Bar in Cary will feature $3.50 Corona and Corona Light bottles, as well as a special chicken chimichanga.

Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant in Crystal Lake is having a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Star 105.5 and Y103.9 will be there during and after lunch. They will also be doing giveaways of necklaces, desserts, and t-shirts. There will be a special on Corona and Corona Light bottles, as well as on the Mexican beers the restaurant has on tap. The restaurant will be decorated with homemade decorations, courtesy of Owner Paul Morien’s mother.
