Community Corner

SPRING = FLOWERS = KNOWLEDGE = SHARE

Talking about our hobbies & what we've learned is almost as much enjoyment as doing the planting.  It's certainly easier on our backs!   Share what you know with a new Habitat for Humanity Lake County homeowner.  Even a little bit of knowledge is more than a previous apartment dweller knows.    For less than 30 hours of your time, a new homeowner can get one on one help & encouragement.  We provide the compost, shovel, hose & plants & you provide the smiles & guidance.    Work Day is June 14. Mentors & homeowners choose donated plants to take back to the home & plant. Mentors can meet homeowners at a meeting on April 29 or any time before Work Day. During the summer we call, text, email or visit our homeowners to encourage them & remind them to water. After a frost, we show them what to cut down or pull. Email or call me for more information about our Gardening Together project with Habitat for Humanity Lake County.  Sue Baron    susanbaron@sbcglobal.net      847-529-6299
