By popular demand a five mile course has been added to the Earth Day trail races on April 26th at Veteran Acres in Crystal Lake.

"We wanted to give the speedsters a chance to show their stuff," said Michele Hartwig of the MUDD Ultrarunning Dudes & Dudettes.

Last year nearly 150 runners toed the line of the 50K and 15 mile races.  By adding a shorter distance the MUDD group hopes even more people race through the park in the spirit of Earth Day.

This year's race awards are being "upcycled" from reclaimed barn wood and a ping pong table.  More information and registration is available at ultrasignup.com.
