Food preservation is a culinary art that can be easily
mastered in a short time. By learning the basics you can preserve the summer's
bounty to enjoy in the off season. In the ‘Canning Basics’ class, the history
of canning and usefulness in food preservation comes alive as we prepare ‘Dilly
Beans’ with green beans from the Colonel Palmer House garden. This program
takes place in Mrs. Palmer’s kitchen in Colonel
Palmer House, 660 E. Terra Cotta Rd, Crystal Lake on Tuesday, September 17,
6:30-9 pm. Register online at www.crystallakeparks.org.
Program fee: $20, Resident discount fee: $15. For further information contact Mary Ott at (815) 477-5873, or via email email@example.com.
