Today: Scorching Temps, 'Cool' Free Shimmy and Belly Dancing Classes

Could today be a record breaker? Forecast calls for more heat for Crystal Lake and Cary on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Greetings Patch readers on this Tuesday, Sept. 10.

It's going to be a hot one - temperatures are expected to climb near 95 degrees, which also happens to be the record-high temperature for the month of September (record high set on Sept. 10, 1983) for the Chicago area, according to Accuweather.com.

If you're looking to keep active in a cool setting, consider attending the free Fit and Shimmy Workshop from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, or the free Belly Dancing Workshop from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. offered by the Crystal Lake Park District.

Both workshops will be held at the Rotary Building at Veteran Acres, 431 Walkup Rd., Crystal Lake. Bring your friends.

Stay cool, and have a great day!  - Stephanie Price, local editor
